In Oregon, the racial debate is stronger than many may realize. The state is known for being the home of Portland, a progressive bastion, however, the state has conservative roots. Many racist Facebook comments have been exposed and a great number are from Oregon.

The city of Portland has become a war ground, at least to the eyes of the media. There, the National Guard was brought in, making matters worse, not better. One Portland man was even harassed by federal agents, despite working with the local government

Maria PistolWhiplash Carmichael is an Oregon native and she raised funds to purchase a local billboard. Her intention was to put “Black Lives Matter” on it. Yesterday, the vision was realized, as the billboard went up, so she shared a photo of it to Facebook, where she made many proud.
