While Lionel Richie is getting all of the praise, Mariah Carey is receiving backlash. One tweeter put it best, “May your 2017 get off to a better start than it did for Mariah Carey.” Her performance to ring 2017 was good for all the wrong reasons.
Mariah Carey seemed overall uninterested in performing for the fans, causing them much anger. There were several comments questioning why she performed if she really didn’t want to be there. A lot of these comments are likely not the reason, but still.
Truth of the matter is, Mariah Carey came up short, while Lionel Richie came through, big time. So, again, while fans are praising him, they are trashing Mariah Carey. Those who missed it can get recapped, below, with the video, and they can read the tweets to decide for themselves.
