On social media, Martin Lawrence has celebrated “Martin,” his self-titled sitcom, reaching its 25th anniversary. Running from 1992 until 1997, “Martin” is regarded as a classic sitcom. The series helped launch the careers of Tichina Arnold and the late Tommy Ford.
Martin Lawrence built his name on the HBO comedy circuit. After blowing people away with his performances, Martin Lawrence soon landed his own sitcom. Following “Martin” ending its run, Lawrence took on the big screen in a major way.
For his efforts, Martin Lawrence will be honored during VH1’s upcoming ceremony for the “Hip Hop Honors.” What would the 1990s have been without “Martin?” Not even wanting to face that thought, VH1 is honoring Martin Lawrence with a “90’s Game Changer” award.
