Mary J.Blige hints at releasing last studio album
The Queen of hip-hop and soul may be finished with releasing music for good. Mary J. Blige is embarking on a successful thirty-year plus career. She’s mastered everything from dancing to music to acting, leaving fans to question what will the legend do next? In a recent interview, Mary J. Blige shares that the new album she is working on may be her last studio album release.
With a list of accomplishments that keep on expanding, Mary J. Blige’s legacy to music and hip-hop culture is unmatched. Often credited with originating the blend of hip-hop and soul, the nine time Grammy Award winner continues influencing new generations. Although known for her classic albums like Whats The 411 and My Life, her 2022 album Goodmorning Gorgeous put her back in the main spotlight. That album was her first release in five years and included features from Usher, Dave East, DJ Khaled and Fivio Foreign. Last October, she released the single “Still Believe in Love” featuring artist Vado.
Despite Mary’s recent releases, her future in music doesn’t seem definite. During her interview Mary spoke about what she is currently working on in the studio. Mary responded stating “an album, and it’s probably my last album”. Although she followed up stating that could change, the idea of no more Mary J. Blige music is shocking.
