Massachusetts Town Keeps Getting Their “Old Town Road” Sign On One Of Their Streets Stolen In Honor Of Lil Nas X’s Hit Single As It Costs Them Hundreds Of Dollars To Replace

Lil Nas X has had the biggest record of the year with “Old Town Road” which immediately received a remix with country legend, Billy Ray Cyrus. It broke Mariah Carey’s record for consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart at 17 weeks on July 29 and doesn’t look like it’ll lose the top spot anytime soon.
Nas X’s success has caught everyone’s attention to the point where it’s gotten a little crazy in the small town of Wellesley, MA. One of their streets is called “Old Town Rd” and the sign keeps getting stolen, according to The Blast. The town says the sign constantly getting stolen is costing them a lot of money, specifically hundreds of dollars, according to The Swellesly Report.
If someone ends up getting spotted stealing the sign, they’d face a misdemeanor larceny charge that would include court costs. It’s still highly unlikely that people will stop considering how huge Nas X is right now.
