Before Master P, rappers were not owning their own companies and when guys like Jay-Z and Diddy were just starting out, he was on top. Running everything independently, ultimately, Master P was overlooked by these other hip hop moguls. Still, Master P amassed his fortune and he opened doors.
Hip hop’s biggest current business deal is Jay-Z, who is preparing the release of his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail. Already, Jay-Z has moved 1 million units of his new album and has made $5 million from it. Jay-Z partnered with Samsung for the new venture and his album will be on the Samsung Galaxy.
Earlier this week, Master P appeared on MTV’s “RapFix Live.” A well-known hip hop businessman, himself, Master P talked about the new business deal Jay-Z has. Knowing what it takes to be successful, Master P applauded the efforts of Jay-Z and praised the new business deal.
