Last night, Maybach Music returned to New York City just in time for Kendrick Lamar to diss Meek Mill. It’s been a challenging summer for Meek Mill, but he has been the biggest headline-grabber for Maybach Music. Meek Mill has had situations with Cassidy, Gillie Da Kid, and Cyssero this summer.
As for the other members of Maybach Music, Rick Ross has taken a complete backseat while Wale promoted his album with Jay-Z. Stalley has continued his mixtape run, most-recently dropping last month, and Omarion continues to crank out hooks. In a week, the crew plans to return with Self Made 3.
When an album drops, the artists are sure to hit up all the primary media outlets in order to schedule their interviews. In hip hop, this means Hot 97’s morning show, which MMG did when they talked to Ebro about the current hip hop, the best East Coast rapper, Cassidy, “Control,” Gucci Mane, and more. Interesting time in hip hop.
It’s funny how Meek Mill has stepped up and Fabolous’ diss record still is awaiting, or not.
