While Hammer’s name is often associated with some form of a joke, no rapper has ever managed to sell records the way he did during his peak. MC Hammer’s downfall came due to his lack of financial management, causing him to lose his $30 million fortune.
In 1996, MC Hammer lost his commercial appeal and his fortune, when the jokes began. MC Hammer was also a preacher, alongside being an emcee. Sixteen years after his downfall, MC Hammer is back on his feet and doing well. The Oakland emcee is a millionaire, once again, and is much older and much wiser.
