MC Lyte talks Bill Cosby, Hip Hop Sister Network, and more with “Sway In The Morning” [VIDEO]

There are many ways to describe MC Lyte and each way means having to acknowledge all she has done for hip hop. Ultimately, every rapper is just a rapper, but MC Lyte is one reason why there is a lot of focus on why every female emcee has so much pressure on them. But, when it comes to hip hop, MC Lyte embodies it fully.

Not only does she rap, MC Lyte is also a DJ and an actress. From 2002 through 2006, she played the role of a hip hop mogul on the UPN sitcom, “Half & Half.” In more recent years, however, MC Lyte has played the role of an elder stateswoman in the game, providing commentary on the current hip hop scene.
