Meek Mill cries during signing of prison reform bill in Pennsylvania

Meek Mill was one of the biggest artists of the 2010s. However, his career would have been much bigger if he didn’t have two prison stints in 2014 and 2017. Despite this, Meek Mill still managed to be one of the biggest stars of the era. As he transitions into the veteran role, the Philly rapper is focused on his business ventures. In addition, he’s focused much of his attention on prison reform. Meek Mill’s native state of Pennsylvania signed their bill into law today. As a result, Meek Mill broke down into tears.

Meek Mill rose to fame in 2011, after three years of being in the industry. Originally, Meek Mill was signed to T.I.’s Grand Hustle label. During that period of time, both Meek and T.I. had legal troubles. As a result, both were going in and out of prison. Because of this, Meek Mill decided to leave the label. The time in between saw Rick Ross gain a lot of traction. When he decided to expand Maybach Music, he signed Meek Mill as the second new addition to the label.

Meek Mill used his opportunity with MMG the right way and became a star. He bought attention back to the Philadelphia hip hop scene. The type of energy he brought to the city hadn’t been seen since Eve was dominating the game. However, his decision to pop a wheelie, when he was a teenager, led to a felony that followed him into his thirties. Finally, Meek Mill is free of his legal woes. Today, Philadelphia signed the reform bill into law. Present for this, Meek began crying.
