Meek Mill and his Reform Alliance have been giving back to local communities since 2018, in hopes to help those who’ve had to deal with the criminal justice system. Many of these humanitarian efforts have been held in Meek’s hometown of Philadelphia.
According to ABC 6 in Philadelphia, Meek hosted a Community Day of Action event, on Saturday. This was done in order to help ex-convicts redeem themselves with new opportunities, such as employment. Services such as expungement services, mental health, housing assistance were also provided. The event is also part of “Second Chance Month.”
“If people have better circumstances, we can produce better outcomes,” said Britton Smith, senior director of strategic partnerships for the event. “Often times it’s a barrier for people to get to some of these service providers, or they don’t even know. Or, they’re scared to ask.”
Meanwhile, Meek is also working on new music. He recently previewed a new song that’s coming with Lola Broke, and previously released his “Flamerz 5” mixtape, in November. Meek became an independent artist again, last year, as he plans to release various projects consistently.
