Meek Mill pays bail for 20 women in Philadelphia
Meek Mill has always been one to give back to communities in various ways. This includes in his hometown of Philadelphia. According to Fox 29 Philadelphia, he has paid off the bail of 20 women, in order for them to get back with their families, for this holiday season.
This was done through Meek’s involvement in REFORM Alliance, which was also co-founded by Jay Z, Robert Kraft, and more. The Philly rapper also explained how he wanted to help love ones, for the holidays.
No one should have to spend the holidays in jail simply because they can’t afford bail. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help these women be with their families and loved ones during this special time of year. It was devastating for me to be away from my son during the holidays when I was incarcerated.”
Five of the women are said to have been released on Friday night, which was right before Christmas Eve. The other 15 are also in the process of being released. These women were being incarcerated at Riverside Correctional Facility. In addition to this release, all 20 women will receive gift cards, in order to purchase groceries or gifts.
Last month, Meek also put out his new “Flamerz 5” mixtape. This contained remixes of various hits, such as Ice Spice’s “Munch (Feelin’ U)” and Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin.”
