Meek Mill shows off $200,000 Dream Catcher chain
Over the past 11 years, Meek Mill has been one of the biggest rappers in the industry. He initially signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group record label, and has also been with Warners Bros and Atlantic Records. However, Meek recently announced that he is going the independent route though, as new music is coming this month. He is also started a 10-mixtape run, starting in September.
But, Meek has also been showing off some new jewelry that he’s purchased this year, including his huge $200,000 Dream Catcher chain. This was designed by now popular Atlanta jeweler, Don The Jeweler. Don initially received co-signs from other industry giants, such as Gunna and Young Thug. Don’s Status Jewelers brand has now skyrocketed, in Atlanta. Don has also worked with other stars such as Moneybagg Yo and Kevin Gates.
This Dream Catcher chain was first designed by Don over a year ago, and went on to be delivered to Meek, during Rolling Loud Miami 2022.
“We met at a meet and greet at Mr. Ruggs’ restaurant, Copper Cove,” said Don to Hip-HopVibe. “It was a Roc nation event where Young Thug, Gunna, and a few others actually vouched for our work. But, Thuggs, the exact words were “He’s the goat,” and that’s where it all started.”
Don also explained how he came into his field as one of the rare Black jewelers, but wanted to help open doors for other jewelers who look like him. He added that Meek also vouched for him, and wanted him to show why people should purchase jewelry with him.
“Being one of the first black jewelers in the game and coming in at such a difficult time, I knew I had to come in demanding respect. I’ve opened the doors and created the blueprint for black jewelers. I was bent on showing the world our talents. When we started this project, Meek Mill told me to show the world why they should spend their money with me. Coming from nothing and being a trench baby, it feels good to now be considered one of the hottest jewelers in the game. And being a young black jeweler makes me know that anything is possible.
