Literally, two years ago, Meek Mill was social media’s go-to laughingstock. It wasn’t until Meek dropped “Whatever You Need” that things began to change for him. The Philly rapper ended up being sent to prison in the middle of that run, though.
Going to prison was tough, but Meek Mill had the support of nearly the whole industry. In the first song Beyonce did, in 2018, she shouted out “Free Meek,” and Drake echoed that at one of his concerts. That support definitely helped Meek keep his head up.
Meek Mill released Championships to much fanfare and he is currently making his media rounds. Among them was Beats 1 Radio, where he and Ebro sat down. Their interview talked about the album, social injustice, and life after prison.
