Back when Roc-A-Fella Records was dominating the game, Jay Z always warned about Memphis Bleek taking over. In fact, Jay Z positioned things just for Memphis Bleek to fill his position. But, this never happened, for whatever reason.

Memphis Bleek enjoyed a great career, scored a few big hits, and was one of the first rappers to turn to mixtape releases on the internet. A lot of changes followed what Memphis Bleek helped start. Surely, he even got something when Roc-A-Fella Records broke up.

Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy sat down with Memphis Bleek for “The Breakfast Club,” this morning. In the interview, they talked about the expectations Jay Z had for Bleek and his contributions to the game. Often forgotten, but Memphis Bleek put T.I. on his 2003 hit, “Round Here,” with Trick Daddy and started the Nas beef.
