Simply put, school isn’t what it used to be. The video footage coming out shows students have no respect for teachers. In addition, the latest news shows students also have no respect for teachers. While educators have the right to defend themselves, they have no right to take advantage of their students. In Florida, this teacher organized a fight club for her students.

The things people think of to do, instead of just doing their jobs, are astounding. Sadly, the news shows people are almost willing to do anything except for the right thing. Granted, in education, each teacher handles their classrooms differently. An example of this is how some teachers are more lenient with the rules. Those kinds of teachers found other ways to control their students.

However, in the case of Angel Footman, she had no teaching style. Instead, the 23-year-old Florida middle school teacher threw her life away, for her own entertainment. She organized 30 second fights with no phones, no screaming/yelling. In addition, she was caught on camera watching the fights, saying no to hair pulling.

When confronted, Footman denied organizing the fights. She did admit to not alerting proper authorities. As a result, she was charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Footman will have her day in court on May 4.
