Twitter is outraged in reaction to Mike Conley’s NBA record $153 million, five-year contract with Memphis #Grizzlies

By no means is Mike Conley a bad player, he is a great player and key to the success of the Memphis Grizzles. He joined the team when they were among the worst in the NBA. His tenure has seen them grow to a championship contender, at one point.

This past season witnessed the Memphis Grizzles collapse and barely make the playoffs after a solid season, early on. With Mike Conley set to be a free agent, the Grizzlies had to make a move. The salary cap rose this offseason, so it was common knowledge that teams would go over.

No one expected what happened, just minutes ago, however. In order to retain Mike Conley, the Memphis Grizzlies dropped $153 million on him, over the course of five years, making him the highest-paid player in NBA history. Twitter has a lot to say about this, as he is making much more than Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook.
