Mo Farah has his documentary, “The Real Mo Farah,” coming out on BBC. In the trailer, which was released yesterday, Mo Farah revealed a secret. At 39 years old, Farah revealed for the first time that his identity is actually fake.

Mo Farah revealed that he is actually a native of Somalia, but that he was trafficked. When Mo Farah’s father was killed, during the Civil War, Farah was taken by a strange woman. According to Farah, she told him that he would be sent to live with family. Despite being taken, Mo Farah’s mother still resides in Somalia. As a result, she had her child taken from her. Meanwhile, Mo Farah was placed with a family in the United Kingdom. Farah was given the identity of another child, “Mohammed Farah.” Farah did not attend school until he was 12, where his love of athletics was discovered.
