Moneybagg Yo speaks on death of Tyre Nichols
The United States continues to deal with constant issues surrounding police brutality, specifically on Black men and women. The latest victim is Tyre Nichols, who was brutally assaulted by five Black Memphis police officers. That incident occurred on January 10, at a traffic stop. Footage went on to capture all five officers taking turns assaulting Nichols, as he went on to pass away from his injuries, at a local hospital.
On a Friday, footage of the incident was released by the city of Memphis, as it displayed the disgusting attack made, by those five officers. Protesters have since surfaced in the city, to make their voices known, about the displeasure of this incident.
One Memphis native who is speaking up about the death of Tyre Nichols, is Moneybagg Yo. Prior to the footage or Nichols being assaulted was released, the CMG rapper took to Instagram to give prayers to the city of Memphis, as well as Nichols’ family.
“Praying for the family of Tyre Nichols,” said Moneybagg in his post. “Also praying for our city. #JusticeForTyre.”
