In 2017, Moneybagg Yo was a rising Memphis artist, who was fast becoming a big name. The Memphis rapper commanded the attention of both Yo Gotti and Young Dolph. Both rappers were interested in signing him.
However, Moneybagg Yo wound up signing with Interscope Records, which most felt was a better deal. Instantly, he began releasing projects, and was one of the game’s hottest artists. Since then, he has faded from the spotlight, until late in 2018.
Moneybagg Yo returned to the spotlight, when Megan Thee Stallion revealed they were dating. The two were high profile, but ended, controversially, with ‘Bagg saying it was all for show. He has been rumored to be with Ari, going on Hot 97 to confirm it, also speaking on his new album.
