Monica and Brandy’s relationship heals after Ariana Grande collab
Monica and Brandy, the iconic duo known for their 1998 hit “The Boy Is Mine,” have officially mended their long-standing feud. The healing process came full circle during their recent collaboration with Ariana Grande on a new rendition of their classic song.
Monica shared how the collaboration with Ariana Grande has positively impacted her relationship with Brandy.
“We recognized that the key was to keep other people out of our relationship, both business and personal. It’s changed the trajectory of it in its totality,” Monica explained. “My son was in the hospital the other day, and she [Brandy] was who I was speaking to while he was there. I think that is what Ariana has done that she may not even realize.”
The reconciliation has opened doors for future collaborations between the two R&B legends. Monica hinted at the possibility of working together again:
“There is a chance. We have a lot of catching up to do in the sense of giving the audience what they really wanted from us even back then. We didn’t find a way to do it then, but we’re finding a way to do it now.”
Their reunion marks a significant moment for fans who have long hoped for a reconciliation. The influence of Ariana Grande, who has often expressed admiration for both singers, appears to have played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between them.
Originally, Monica and Brandy put their issues to bed in 2012. Not only did the two reconcile, but also, they came together for a new song. However, the two were soon back to subliminally insulting each other. But, in 2021, they came together for Verzuz. Despite this, they were still considered rivals. All of this changed with the Ariana Grande collaboration.
This renewed friendship not only rekindles their personal bond but also promises exciting musical ventures, providing closure and a fresh start for one of R&B’s most talked-about duos.
