MTV News talks to Papoose, LL Cool J, DJ Kay Slay, Uncle Murda, Yo Gotti, and more about Chris Lighty [VIDEO]

Hip hop is still shaken, due to the death of Chris Lighty. One of the brightest executives in the hip hop industry, Chris Lighty helped guide the careers of many hip hop artists. Chris Lighty managed the likes of LL Cool J, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, Papoose, DJ Kay Slay, Uncle Murda, Fat Joe, and many more over the course of his career. Along the way, Chris Lighty was involved in many hip hop wars.

When Chris Lighty began managing 50 Cent, he would lose Ja Rule and Irv Gotti, along with his entire company waged war against him. After the situation with Murder Inc. evaporated, Chris Lighty became involved in another 50 Cent feud, this time with Game. James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond managed Game and released a statement in honor of Chris Lighty.

The death of Chris Lighty forced a lot of enemies to side together, all able to agree on one thing, Chris Lighty changed their lives. MTV News was at Chris Lighty’s funeral and they spoke to Papoose, LL Cool J, DJ Kay Slay, Uncle Murda, Yo Gotti, and more about the impact he had on them. Several of those interviewed held back tears, as they spoke of him.
