The Grammys red carpet is currently being held in Los Angeles, outside of Crypto.com Arena. Early awards are also being announced, including for the R&B categories.

For Best R&B Performance, this Grammy goes to Muni Long’s 2021 “Hrs & Hrs” single. This was released in the fall of that year, and became Muni’s breakout record.  It also appeared on her debut “Public Displays Of Affection” EP, in November 2021. Muni’s Public Displays Of Affection album also went on to be released, last summer.

Hrs & Hrs went on to peak at number 16 in the US, on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s also certified platinum. This single really began to accumulate momentum on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. As a result, it soared to mainstream stardom, including Muni being recognized as one of R&B’s most talented new stars.

Muni had been in the industry for a while, prior to transitioning into an artist. She had previously been known for her elite songwriting, as she had written records for superstars such as Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, and more.
