At the peak of his career, Mystikal was sent to prison on rape charges and was taken away from the game for six years. Mystikal has been out of prison for two years and has been working hard to reclaim his position in the game. Signing with the rapidly-growing Cash Money Records has led to Mystikal returning to the headlines, but he has faded into the background recently.
Despite fading into the background, the hip hop world has accepted Mystikal back into the fold, as he blends well with the YMCMB movement. Since joining Cash Money Records, Mystikal has been all over the news, because of his prior deal with No Limit Records. For years, long before Cash Money morphed into the machine it is, they competed heavily with New Orleans rival, No Limit Records.
Currently promoting his Original album, Mystikal has run into major problems. In the middle of his comeback run, Mystikal has been sent back to prison, due to a probation violation. Mystikal recently got into a domestic dispute, a direct violation of his probation. Because of this, Mystikal has been forced to spend three months in prison.
