Due to his past affiliation with No Limit Records, Mystikal has been asked, repeatedly, about his decision to sign with Cash Money Records. During one interview, Mystikal revealed the label has wanted him for nearly a decade. Given his popularity from 2000 through 2002, there were many labels who wanted to add Mystikal to their roster.

In 2005, 50 Cent proved he was more than the leader of a crew when he signed Mobb Deep and M.O.P. to G-Unit Records. Those power moves did not pan out, as expected, but 50 Cent was soldified as a record executive. In 2011, 50 Cent signed a joint venture deal with D4L Records, adding their entire roster to G-Unit.

50 Cent hoped he could pull of another major deal in 2011. Recently, during an interview with AllHipHop.com’s “The Next 48 Hours,” Mystikal revealed he came close to signing with G-Unit Records. Ironically, Mystikal ended up signing with Cash Money Records, a label 50 Cent has clashed with in the past.
