Nowadays, N.O.R.E. is going by P.A.P.I., as opposed to the name he has taken the game over with. Early in the 1990s, New York hip hop made a strong comeback and it was due to the success of The Notorious B.I.G. Several other rappers also had success during this period of time, including N.O.R.E.

During this period of time, there was more of a united front in New York. Back then, most of the issues were between the New York and Los Angeles hip hop scenes, along with other East and West Coast rappers. N.O.R.E. also was a major name in New York during this time, as he has been for decades.

With the anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.’s death taking place this past weekend, there were a lot of tributes to B.I.G. Previously, Lil’ Kim opened up about her feelings about Biggie. N.O.R.E. also revealed something, which fans saw re-enacted on the B.I.G. biopic, Notorious, where he made calls to his loved ones and among them was N.O.R.E.

Read N.O.R.E.’s story below:

“The only part that made me cry was when he was making those phone calls. I was one of those phone calls. I wasn’t honored that Big called me playing ‘T.O.N.Y.,’ I was like ‘How the f*** you get that?’ I’m thinking it’s bootlegged. Big Took like five minutes before he answered.”

“He was like, ‘I’m getting on the remix, ‘As soon as I get back to New York, I’m bodying that. Don’t tell no one I don’t want nobody to know.’ I’m thinking I’m gonna have the biggest record out.”

The Notorious B.I.G. tragically died in Los Angeles before he had a chance to make this happen.
