Nas Says Appearing on a Verzuz Battle Isn’t Something That He’s Trying Do To [VIDEO]

Verzuz has been amazing creation for hip-hop this year as we’ve seen some of the greatest to ever do it showcase their greatest records. Some of the most memorable ones have been Ludacris vs Nelly, Teddy Riley vs Babyface, 2 Chainz vs Rick Ross, and T-Pain vs Lil Jon. The next battle is set to take place on August 31 between R&B legends, Monica and Brandy.

Many have called for Nas, who’s always been a legend in hip-hop, to appear on a Verzuz battle. The New York native spoke on Apple Music regarding the possibility and he isn’t very interested in doing it at all. He did applaud Timbaland and Swizz Beatz though for creating something special in Verzuz, though.

“I talked to the Swizz [Beatz], I’m really proud of what he’s built with Verzuz, and I’m more of a fan to know who’s going to be next, so I’m calling Swizz, like, ‘Who you got? Who’s next?’ I’m really a fan,” said Nas. “I really want to know. I think he knows that’s not what I’m trying to do, but I like to know who’s coming next.”

This summer, Juicy J wanted to get on a Verzuz battle with Nas but never received a response. Now, it seems that we sadly won’t ever see Nas on this platform at all. Hopefully, his mind changes, though. Check out his full interview with Apple Music below.
