Nas takes number four on MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list [VIDEO]

Delivering 2012’s hottest album, according to half of the hip hop world, Nas redefined the term “comeback” in 2012. Taking four years off, Nas did not appear to be on any lists coming into last year. Initially, Nas planned to release his Life is Good album, but it faced several delays.

In the spring of 2012, Nas announced his refocus on Life is Good and he released his popular single, “The Don.” Soon, Nas followed this up with “Daughters,” his critically-acclaimed record. Nas continued his run throughout the summer and into the winter months, with his album being considered classic by most.

Because he came back so strong with Life is Good, MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” had to choose Nas. Sway Calloway ruffled feathers with Kanye West, but has moved forward and is keeping the list going. Now, the focus is on Nas, as he returned lyricism to the rap game, making fourth on the list over Drake and others.
