Fans were waiting for Nas to return and it seemed as if he was last summer, when he announced his new album, Life is Good. After making his fans wait an additional year, Nas returned with what many consider to be the best album of 2012, so far. In addition to being a critical success, many predicted the new Nas LP would also be a commercial success.

Nas has been met with critical acclaim over his new music and he returned at a time when the rap game needed him. Once he began releasing music from the new album, Nas saw his popularity soar as he saw himself aligned with several new stars. Working with Tyga, Nicki Minaj, Wale, Rick Ross, and many others helped Nas to establish himself with the younger artists.

While his album sales may be lower than previous releases, Nas is arguably at an all-time high in popularity, as his former competitors are no more. A week has passed since Nas released Life is Good and the results have been phenomenal. Now, Nas adds to this with a debut on top of the charts with 139,000 copies sold in his first week.
