Tonight, Nas’ performance at the Kennedy Center finally aired, putting him on PBS, out of all places. The Queens rap legend has transcended music and become a bonafide icon. On top of taking care of things, in music, he has moved into ownership.
Nas took over Mass Appeal, back in 2014, and is now the head of his own media company. There, Nas has released documentaries on himself, and other stars. Tonight, fittingly, the focus has been on him, as his Kennedy Center show was on.
The fans on Twitter loved every aspect of Nas’ live show. This actually shows how far he’s come, as Illmatic showed a young Nas, navigating the rough New York City, as a poor youth. Twenty-four years later, Nas is at Kennedy Center, in NYC, wearing a suit, performing Illmatic and fans loved it!
