J. Cole and NBA Youngboy are two of the hottest artists in hip-hop right now and their numbers definitely back those titles up. According to DJ Akademiks, the two were supposed to link up together at the studio at one point to record together. This was revealed by Akademiks in a new live stream.

Cole allegedly waited eight hours at the studio for Youngboy to show up but, he never did. Akademiks also emphasized that this did in fact happen.

“J. Cole waited in the studio for eight hours for Youngboy to show up. Youngboy didn’t show up. Facts. These are facts! Your favorite rapper, n***a. J. Cole? He sat in the studio for eight hours for a session with Youngboy. Youngboy never showed up.”

Akademiks then claimed how Youngboy is always going through things and living life at the same time. For that studio session, the situation was supposedly about Youngboy’s energy not being right then and how the environment wouldn’t be right.

“Let me be fair to Youngboy. No disrespect to J. Cole, J. Cole’s just a rapper. Youngboy be going through sh*t. He’s living life, he’s going through sh*t. Youngboy said, ‘yo, my energy is not fit to be in the studio with that guy.’ It wasn’t about J. Cole. It was just that he, and personally what he was going through, wasn’t fit to be in that environment.”

A J. Cole and Youngboy colab definitely would’ve been a fan-favorite. At this point, though that may not happen after the way YB ghosted Cole for eight hours.
