Nelly arrested in Tennessee after bus search and charged with felony drug possession

In the early 2000s, it seems like everyone and everything worked hard to prove this was not the 1990s. This included music, as new sounds and cities emerged, especially in hip hop. Among the new blood was Nelly, coming via St. Louis.

Early on, Nelly scored big hits, but he really hit it big in 2002. During the summer of that year, Nelly owned the charts with the “Hot In Herre” single. Almost a decade and a half later, Nelly is revered for crafting one of the last classic summer singles.

Nelly has moved on to become a businessman and actor in recent years. A lot of ventures have Nelly’s stamp, including shares in the Charlotte Hornets and a role on BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood.” But, a tour stop in Tennessee shed a bad light on Nelly, as he was arrested after his tour bus was searched and charged with felony drug possession.
