Seven years ago, Nelly was one of the biggest hip hop entertainers in the world. At the time, the rapper was flexing his superstar muscle. Coming off of his chart-topping hit, “Hot In Herre,” Nelly prepared for his next single, “Dilemma.” The song featured former Destiny’s Child star, Kelly Rowland and has become her biggest single to date.
After the release of that single, Nelly and Rowland made many public appearances together. This led many to believe that the two were dating. They never directly spoke on their relationship, but it was clear that they were more than friends. Once the single fell from frequent radio play, so did their relationship.
Both artists fell out of the public eye only a few years after their collaboration. In 2008, Nelly returned with an album. On this album, his single “Body on Me,” featured Ashanti. Before long, there were rumors of a relationship between those two artists. Both Ashanti and Nelly confirmed this relationship.
A few months ago, Kelly Rowland also made her big return to the spotlight. She was featured in the video for 50 Cent’s “Baby by Me.” Rowland played to love interest of 50 Cent. Her feature in the video reintroduced Kelly Rowland to the public, now she is ready to create more music. In 2010, she plans to record a new album.
Currently, Nelly is also working on a new album, called Let’s Get It. The album will feature a collaboration with Kelly Rowland. The new song between Nelly and Kelly will be a sequel to their 2002 hit, “Dilemma.” This single will be the first single off of Nelly’s next album, which will be released during the summer of 2010.
