There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Lil Nas X, and his “Old Town Road” single. When the song was first released, it charted on both Billboard charts for country music and rap/R&B. At the time, that was history-making.

However, the song would be removed from the country charts, leading to some backlash. Soon, Lil Nas X would gain the support of country music legend, Billy Ray Cyrus. The two came together for the remix of the “Old Town Road” track, owning social media.

Nelly ended up trending on Twitter, which is something the younger fans may not quite understand. But, in 2004, Nelly and Tim McGraw came together for “Over and Over,” the original rap/country collaboration. Now, fans on Twitter are saying that Nelly walked so Lil Nas X can run, making him the top topic.
