In 2007, DJ Khaled reunited Ja Rule, Fat Joe, and Jadakiss for a track he called “New York Is Back.” The song was to be a single off We The Best and also the first single off Ja Rule’s 2007 album. This was supposed to kickstart the new wave of hip hop in New York, but the timing was off.
Instead, 2011 was when New York would show signs of life when French Montana took off. DJ Khaled got hands on in 2013, when he signed Vado to We The Best Music Group. Early in 2014, French Montana is making sure New York is in the spotlight.
French Montana is currently leading the New York hip hop scene and he is going hard with the new music. One person who looks to be making a comeback out of New York is Cam’ron, as he is showing up everywhere. This morning, French Montana put a new pic up on Instagram of him hanging out with none other than Killa Cam.
