At a time when most had forgotten about the female emcees, Nicki Minaj emerged and started a new trend. This trend, however, appeared eerily similar to the one Lil’ Kim started almost twenty years prior.

Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj ended up getting into a very high-profile beef during the 2010-2011 period. Initially, Nicki Minaj ignored the disses until she began firing back in a forceful manner. Later, Lil’ Kim explained why she went after Nicki Minaj and then moved on.

Few have discussed the beef over the past two years, but a recent discussion caused a bit of controversy today. Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj released her single, “Lookin’ Ass Nigga,” where she clowns loser guys. Her new single, as pointed out by fans, shares many similarities to Lil’ Kim’s 2008 freestyle over HotStylz’ “Lookin’ Ass Nigga” single with Yung Joc.
