Nicki Minaj denies that she and her husband, Kenneth Petty, are gang affiliated, with Blood members

Since August, Nicki Minaj and her husband,  Kenneth Petty, have been dealing with a lawsuit. This is from Petty’s 1994 rape victim, Jennifer Hough. This is due to Petty and Minaj allegedly threatening Hough, after she refused to recant her story of what happened in the 90s.

Minaj and Petty have also been accused of being gang affiliated, in their hometown of New York City. According to AllHipHop, Hough says that the couple was in Queens, NY, in October. That’s when men around them, supposedly threw up gang signs that are affiliated with the Makk Baller Brims, which are Blood members.

According to Minaj in court documents though, she claims that she was going to take a picture in front of a mural, dedicated to Sean Bell. She denied the gang affiliations as well. At the time, Minaj was also with Rico Danna, an artist she wants to sign.

“I was quickly surrounded by my fans, particularly in this instance because my pink Rolls Royce was in the direct sightline of apartment buildings across the street from where I had stopped. While my husband and I recognized a few friends and acquaintances from the neighborhood that night, including Rico Danna, an artist whom I intend to sign to my label, none of them belong to any gang,” Nicki explained to the Judge. “Further, we did not plan to meet anyone in advance because we had not planned to stop there. Once I came out of the car, the news traveled quickly, and people just showed up.”

Minaj also emphasized that she or her husband, didn’t throw up any gang signs. They also deny speaking about the case involving Hough that night, as well.

“Neither I, my husband, nor anyone I knew made any ‘gang’ signs that night. I did not mention [Hough] or this case that night. Nor did I hear anyone, including my husband, mention [Hough] or this case that night.”

Petty is also scheduled to be sentenced in March. This is due to his case involving him not registering as a sex offender in California, in early 2020. Petty was initially scheduled to be sentenced in January. Petty is registered as a sex offender in NY as well, due to the 1994 first-degree rape conviction, which he served four years in prison for.
