Since the early days of her career, Nicki Minaj has faced criticism. In the early days, Nicki Minaj dropped many bisexual lyrics, primarily on Usher’s 2010 hit, “Lil Freak.” During the early 2010s, Nicki Minaj was the only major female rapper making noise.

Because of this, Nicki Minaj was overly scrutinized, and began receiving major criticism. This was highlighted, during the 2014 BET Awards, when she apologized, after winning the award for the fifth straight time. She would finally lose the award, in 2017.

Nicki Minaj recently did an interview with Elle Magazine, and she spoke on her sexual content. Saying that maybe she was naive, Nicki took responsibility for the part that she’s played in cultural changes. Offering advice to the IG models, she told them to know their worth, and said Queen tackles these topics.
