A couple of hours ago, Nicki Minaj responded to the MTV Video Music Awards nominations. Clearly “feeling herself,” Nicki Minaj was upset that her videos, “Anaconda” and “Feeling Myself,” featuring Beyonce, didn’t get nominations for Video of the Year. This award always causes drama.
It was six years ago when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift for accepting this very award. Back then, Taylor Swift won Video of the Year over Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.” Ironically, Beyonce is involved in this drama, too, as is Taylor Swift, but Nicki Minaj is driving the situation.
Nicki Minaj initially called out MTV, accusing them of being racist for not including her videos in the major award categories. This prompted Taylor Swift to chime in, saying perhaps it was her fellow men that blocked her from getting the nomination she feels as if she deserves. In reaction to all of this, the fans on Twitter went in on the whole situation.
