A little over a week ago, Nicki Minaj’s “Beez in The Trap” single, which features 2 Chainz leaked during Funkmaster Flex’s show on Hot 97. The song became the center of a radio/Twitter beef between Funkmaster Flex and DJ Clue, formerly of Hot 97, currently of Power 105.1. While not involved in the feud, the exchange between the acclaimed DJs have been a great source of promotion for Nicki Minaj.
Even before she had a new album in the works, Nicki Minaj has been all over the headlines, simply based on who she is. Throughout 2011, Nicki Minaj continued releasing singles from her Pink Friday debut, with “Super Bass” being released late in the year. While her music continued to generate attention, her diehard fans were waiting on new material from Nicki, which she announced in November 2011.
The anticipation boiled down and today was the official release of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, the official sophomore album from Nicki Minaj. As the album is being reviewed by fans and hip hop media, Nicki Minaj continues to make her rounds. MTV recently caught up with Nicki Minaj, asking her about her “Beez in The Trap” single, with Nicki saying a music video is coming soon, as soon as today.
