This year, Nicki Minaj found herself forced back into the spotlight in ways she wasn’t even considering. After taking much of 2015 and 2016 off, Nicki Minaj was facing pressure from fans to return. Early in 2017, she did two major features.
The first one was “Swalla,” from Jason Derulo, also featuring Ty Dolla $ign. Then, her second one was “Make Love,” her and Gucci Mane’s official reunion. On both songs, people speculated if she was taking shots at Remy Ma, prompting “ShETHER.”
Fans saw Nicki Minaj dodge responding to Remy Ma by working on a secret project with Future and then disappearing. When she returned, she reunited with Drake and Lil Wayne, also aligning with Foxy Brown. After doing the “No Frauds” video and giving both Rah Ali and Karen Civil a cameo, Remy Ma took a pic with Lil’ Kim, prompting Nicki to promote Foxy Brown and the “Regret In Your Tears” music video, which she says will drop tomorrow.
