Over the last week, Lil Nas X has brought a lot of controversy to social media. First, it was the release of the music video for his new “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” single. There, he was seen twerking on Satan. Then, he sold his Nike Air Max 97 “Satan Shoes” earlier this week as 666 were available. This brought a lot of backlash due to people believing that Nas X was glorifying Satan. These all retailed for $1,018.

These shoes also featured a Luke 10:18 verse, human blood on the soles, and a Satanic symbol on the front of the shoes. This has since had many shocked as to why these would be placed on these shoes like this.

Nike went on to reveal that they had no affiliation with the making of these shoes. They soon filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against MSCHF, who helped create the shoes. According to TMZ, Nike has gotten a judge to temporary stop the sales of these Satan Shoes.

In this restraining order, MSCHF cannot even ship the Satan Shoes that were already paid for. In Nike’s lawsuit, Nas X wasn’t named as a defendant. He has since trolled the lawsuit by posting a Squidward meme from Spongebob where he is homeless. Nas X’s caption was “Me after the Nike lawsuit.”
