Sneakerheads all over the world stay up-to-date on the latest sneakers and their release dates with several different apps. One of those apps is Nike’s SNKRS app that has over 1 million downloads and brags to be the ultimate destination to shop and explore the latest drops.
Nike recently teamed up with the popular ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s and dropped the highly anticipated Nike SB X Ben & Jerry’s Dunk Low “Chunky Dunky,” one of the more unique collabs seen this year. The sneakers feature bright sky blues, greens and black and white cow print to mirror the Ben & Jerry packaging laced with swaggy fonts used for the Nike logos and swish.
The SNKRS app held a drawing where hundreds of thousands of entries were submitted by sneakerheads all over hoping to be the lucky winner of the “Chunky Dunky” and two colourways of the Air Max 90 – both sneakers retailing well over $100.
Most took an “L” on the drawing and shared their disappointment on Twitter with others around the globe as several received the notification: “Your entry wasn’t selected.”
What this means for all of those that didn’t win, is a trip to their local sneaker shop to stand in line for hours in hopes that the sneakers do not sale out — considering the online orders go just as fast.
Shoe stores in Canada have already announced the site has broken from the massive amounts of orders received as some woke up at 6AM to get their hands on the latest hot pair of sneakers.
The collaboration has been said to be the most hyped drop of the month.
