Nipsey Hussle talks independent grind, “Crenshaw,” Proud 2 Pay, and more with DJ Drama [VIDEO]

Last year, Nipsey Hussle changed the way artists market their projects. He decided to deliver Crenshaw as his new mixtape, which DJ Drama hosted. Ultimately, Nipsey Hussle decided to take the project retail, which is fairly common, but only selling 1,000 copies at $100 per is unheard of.

In effort to promote the project, Nipsey Hussle created the #Proud2Pay movement. This led to Jay-Z supporting the project, by purchasing 100 copies of the project, making major headlines for supporting a fellow hustler. With the situation all over the news, Nipsey Hussle became a household name, although he’s been silent ever since.

Nipsey Hussle recently caught back up with DJ Drama at Sirius XM, running into Lil’ Boosie along the way. He came in for an interview and he discussed his independent grind that made Crenshaw a success. During the interview, he and DJ Drama reflected on that campaign.
