Nipsey Hussle’s 2018 Debut and Grammy-Nominated Album, ‘Victory Lap,’ Officially Goes Platinum

It’s been almost 10 months since hip-hop lost Nipsey Hussle as he was shot and killed in his hometown of Los Angeles. The industry is still mourning the loss but the support is still very real as fans continue to stream his music and purchase merchandise from his The Marathon Clothing store.

Prior to Nipsey’s death, his 2018 debut album, ‘Victory Lap’ was nominated for a Grammy award in 2019 for Best Rap Album. This project included hits such as ‘Last Time I Checced‘ featuring YG, ‘Dedication‘ feat. Kendrick Lamar, ‘Rap N*ggas,’ ‘Victory Lap’ feat. Stacy Barthe, and ‘Grinding All My Life.’ Nipsey was in the game for almost 10 years when Victory Lap was released but he felt the timing of this release was just right.

Now, Nipsey’s most successful project of his career has officially been certified platinum by the RIAA, according to Chart Data. This was accomplished by 1 million units being sold. After Victory Lap was released, Nipsey released his final single prior to passing away at the start of 2019 which was the hit record, ‘Racks in The Middle’ feat. Roddy Ricch.
