Disappointing is one word to use to describe the ongoing violence in Chicago, which has led to the death of hundreds of young people. Chicago is currently in the middle of numerous headlines, including hip hop. Despite the lyrics from Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, the violence has been overlooked, for the most part.

The biggest rap sensation of 2012 came from Chicago in the form of Chief Keef. At the age of sixteen, Chief Keef was signed to Interscope Records. With his music promoting the violence in Chicago, Lupe Fiasco spoke out, saying the style scared him. Chief Keef went on to insult the veteran rapper on Twitter, later claiming he was hacked.

In the time since then, Chief Keef has faced much scrutiny, with even his grandmother speaking out against him. Chicago producer, No I.D., discussed the situation with MTV News, saying he wanted things to end. No I.D. and Malik Yusef spoke on the issues, putting themselves in the situation and saying Lupe Fiasco and Chief Keef should actually talk.
