Nominees Revealed For 2020 Billboard Music Awards; Artists Include DaBaby, Post Malone, Lizzo, Drake, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, Khalid, Roddy Ricch, and More

This year’s Billboard Music Awards was initially supposed to take place on April 29 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it got pushed back. Now, it’ll go down on October 14 on NBC. The list of nominees were revealed today and the stars are very familiar as they feature some of the most dominant artists in the industry. Post Malone leads the way with the most nominations at 16 and Lil Nas X comes in second with 13.

The nominees for Top Artist are Billie Eilish Jonas Brothers, Khalid, Post Malone, and Taylor Swift. In the Top Billboard 200 album list, it includes When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go by Billie Eilish
Lover by Taylor Swift, Free Spirit by Khalid, Hollywood’s Bleeding by Post Malone, and Thank U, Next by Ariana Grande.

DaBaby scored seven nominations in the categories for Top Male Artist and Top New Artist. This comes during a time where he’s released three albums since March 2019, all of which have gone platinum. We also see him in categories such as Top 100 Artist and Top Streaming Songs Artist. His breakout hit single, “Suge,” also reached 1 billion on-demand streams today.

Baby is also in the Top Rap Album category and this list is pretty stacked. The nominees are Kirk by DaBaby, Death Race For Love by Juice WRLD, Hollywood’s Bleeding by Post Malone, Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial by Roddy Ricch, and So Much Fun by Young Thug.

For R&B, though there are some very solid nominations. For Top R&B artist, the choices are Chris Brown, Khalid, Lizzo, Summer Walker, and The Weeknd. Top Male R&B nominees feature Brown, Khalid, and The Weeknd. For Top R&B Female Artist, it comes down to Beyoncé, Lizzo and Walker. In the Top R&B Album column, we see Homecoming: The Live Album by Beyoncé, Changes by Justin Bieber, Indigo by Chris Brown, Free Spirit by Khalid, and Over It by Summer Walker.
