Hip hop has so many classic moments and eras that it makes it difficult to cover them all. However, Dr. Dre and Ice Cube put forth their best effort to bring NWA back to life. Unfortunately, Eazy-E died back in 1995, but his memory was alive in the past few weeks.
The past couple of weeks have centered around the promotion of the movie, Straight Outta Compton, the NWA biopic. Interest in the movie has led to more interest in the music. The past few weeks have seen a lot happen, even Dr. Dre dropping a new album.
Revisiting 1988, NWA is enjoying all kinds of Straight Outta Compton success in 2015. Not only is the movie breaking records each weekend when the box office numbers open, their music is seeing a boost in sales. This week, NWA re-entered the top five with Straight Outta Compton doing 43,000 copies this past week.
