NYC woman gets run over and stabbed by estranged husband
In Queens, New York, there is a 41-year-old woman who was left fighting for her life. According to reports from the New York Post, the woman was run over by her own husband, following a domestic dispute. There is nothing easy about marriage and people act out in different ways. Violence, however, should never be the answer. In the case of Sophia Giraldo, her 36-year-old husband, Stephen, saw this as his only answer.
Sophia Giraldo and her husband, Stephen, have been estranged for some time. In addition to running a life coaching business, Sophia has her own podcast. Both the business and the “Unfiltered and Free” podcast center around helping victims of domestic abuse and she opens up about her own “toxic” marriage. Actually, just days before the attack, Sophia opened up about her fears of some kind of attack from her husband. Simply, she said she wants her New Year to be different.
It turns out, Sophia Giraldo will have a “different” New Year. If she awakens, she will find herself hospitalized at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, after the attack. Sophia was outside of her Flushing, Queens home, when her husband, Stephen, a MTA driver, ran her over in her own front yard. On Tuesday, at 5 am, Stephen ran into the side of the home they once shared. Their three children were inside the car, during the attack.
After the attack, Stephen Giraldo allegedly got out of the vehicle and stabbed Sophia. He has been charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
