Omeretta The Great says she plans to marry incarcerated boyfriend

Last month, Atlanta rapper Omeretta The Great appeared to finally have her first hit single. This is “Sorry Not Sorry,” as throughout the song, she explained that certain Atlanta surrounding areas, simply aren’t part of Atlanta. This sparked plenty of debates on social media, with many not feeling what Omeretta had to say. This also comes as she left “Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta,” due to producers focusing more on the love aspect of the show for her, and not her music.

In addition to her music, Omeretta has also been criticized for still being with her boyfriend, Ta’Byron Smith. Smith is currently serving a 27-year prison sentence. She even has six tattoos of him, on her. Smith was originally convicted on charges in 2017, of robbing various Asian-owned businesses. In addition to Smith, Dravion Sanchez Ware was also convicted.

However, in a new interview on the It’s Tricky with Raquel Harper podcast, Omeretta doubled down on her love for Smith, as she says she plans to marry him while he’s in prison. A ceremony for when he finally gets out will also be in the works. Meanwhile, Omeretta also feels that people are simply judgmental, regarding the criticism for why she’s still with someone who’s serving a 27-year sentence. In the end, it appears that Omeretta isn’t bothered at all, but critics of her relationship.
